Carnival Cruise Lines is the cruise operating company. It operates the large number of cruise ships. In the starting it was an independent company that was founded Ted Arison in 1972. Presently it is a branded division within the Carnival Corporation & plc. It is a publicly traded company that owns large number of ships of different cruise brands. This company has the largest number of ships that sails across the globe. It was a break new ground in the concept of shorter and less expensive cruises. This brand ships are known for their entertainment and décor that was of Las Vegas style in nature. This also termed its ships as The Fun ships because of there are a wide stock of activities that were offered on board. Carnival Cruise Lines trademark is the stack of smoke or the funnel that is white, blue and red in color and resembles the whale tails. The amulet for the Carnival Cruises is the "Fun Ship Freddy", it is a character in the shape of its distinctive funnel.
Several new offices of Carnival will be opened at Southampton, United Kingdom in 2009. In the year 1996, Carnival Destiny becomes the largest passenger ship till today in this world with the 101,000 gross tons. In the year 2008, the latest and the largest ship in the Carnival Fleet was the Carnival Splendor in 2008. A fabulous new 130,000 gross ton ship is on the way: Carnival Dream. A sister ship Carnival magic is also going to burn the sea in June 2011.
