Holland America

The Holland America Line is a fabulous cruise company in 1873 and was founded as the Dutch-America Steamship Company. It is shipping and the passenger line company. In local language it is known as the Nederlandsch-Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij.  As its head quarter is located at Rotterdam and also provides service to the Americans. As a result it starts knowing as Holland America Line and also known as HAL. In 1872, the first ship of HAL was sailed between the Rotterdam and New York. Its transatlantic passenger service ended at New York, it remained as an American Terminal. Later in that century other services were also started between the South America and the Baltimore. In 1899 the pure cargo service to New York was launched.

In the first quarter of its existence this line carried around 400,000 people from the traditional to the advanced world. Although the shipping and the transportation department of this company acted as the primary source of  revenues.  In 1895 this exotic cruise line company offers its first cruise vacations and the second leisure cruise safari from Holy land to the New York that was offered to passengers in 1910. During 1971 it suspended its transatlantic passenger’s trade department and sold its cargo shipping division. HAL become the fully owned subsidiary of the world largest shipping corporation i.e. Carnival Corporation. It operates almost all around the world. In 2008 it operates with the 14 ships that range from older to the smaller class vessels.
