Royal Caribbean International
Royal Caribbean International was formerly known as the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. It was founded by Anders Wilhelmsen & Company, M. Skaugen & Company, Gotaas Larsen and Norwegian shipping companies in 1968. The newly borne line launched its first ship two years later i.e. the Song of Norway. In the following year the line capacity was almost double with the addition of Nordic Prince to Caribbean fleet. After the four years of successful operation the first ship of this line means Royal Caribbean's Song of Norway became their first passenger ship to be lengthened. This was achieved by inserting 85 foot section to the vessel’s service centre. In 1980 Nordic Prince also follows the same procedure. Finally in 1982 this brand receives global recognition. After two years this purchased its second private destination, Little Stirrup Cay, an island in the Bahamas, which they rechristened "Coco Cay." After that Monarch of seas entered in to the service in Sovereign class.
The next entry in the same class was the Majesty of the Seas. With the fabulous developments this family went public in 1993 on the New York Stock Exchange. For the next two years the company experienced extreme growth. A new had quarter was set up in Miami, Florida. The Nordic one was replaced with a new vessel the Legend of the Seas. In the following year two more vessels were added to the fleet that was named as Splendour of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas.
