In 1987 HAL purchased half of the Windstar Sail Cruises and completely in 1988. HAL also passed the option of building the Wind Surf and the Wind Saga. With the backing of French Government the two larger ships were built for Club Med. All the Windstar Cruises ships offered best of best to their guests. Cabins were well decorated and maintained.
